The only woodworking show of its kind in North Carolina. Featuring tool manufactures from around the world with local woodworking clubs like ours from around the state. This is a celebration of the craft for all ages. And did I mention its free to attend!
We at NCWoodworker will be putting on demos both days.
Meanwhile we will be helping participants turn a few lathe projects and scroll saw projects. Come out, get your hands dirty and expand on your knowledge of the craft.
The Artisan Pirate will doing demos at our both and the Rikon both over the two days.

2025 Camera Skills Workshop

Location: Bill Clemmons’ shop
We’ll be discussing the basics of photography for both photo and video to help you share what you do in your shop. It will start with some basics of camera gear, their uses, and how to use it to get the best results from different styles of cameras. We’ll look at exposure, focus, composition, lighting, sound, and how to tell a story with imagery. Since we live in a digital world, we’ll also touch on file handling and general digital workflow. Bring your camera of choice – smartphones cameras are perfectly welcome – and we will do some exercises to get you started with quality photos and footage.
My name is Jim Perkins. I’ve been shooting photos since high school, and producing professional work since 1991. I’ve shot everything from weddings way back at the beginning, to commercials, industrials, animation, long form promotionals, educational films, and documentary work all over the world. I’ve seen the entire evolution of modern production first hand.
The goal for this workshop is to boil my experience down into a (relatively) simple method to effectively share your woodworking adventures – or anything you want – without learning everything the hard way.
